Damen Layton
Project Manager
Damen manages the organization’s project driven training programs and is responsible for development of the Ethiopian Coffee Trademarking and Licensing Initiative capacity building program. He also manages and supports the organization’s information systems.
Prior to joining Light Years IP, Damen was working in the training and development field, applying accelerated learning techniques to the areas of management training and coaching. He also had a career as a network engineer in the IT industry and later worked as a systems consultant.
Damen was born and raised in New Zealand and spent some of his formative years growing up on the South Pacific Island of Niue. He has a degree in Education from Victoria University in Wellington, is a qualified HP and Microsoft engineer, and served as an Officer in the New Zealand Army’s Territorial Force.
